WW1 Veteran (1977). While working at Madame Tussaud’s
Wax Museum in London, UK. This was a portrait of
one of the elderly security staff who was dressed
as a
beefeater from the Tower of London. His job was to
greet the visitors to the exhibition and after seeing
him near the entrance the visitors would then meet
him in life only a few steps further on. Although
his moustache was modeled on in clay, it had to be
removed
for the mold to be made. The head was then cast in
beeswax and the hair was painstakingly inserted back
into the upper lip one by one. |
